Sauer Capital S.A. (www.sauercapitalsa.com) White Paper Identifies Benefits of Diversification

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 09, 2011 - Analyzing inventory patterns and actively controlling risk can help enhance returns for commodities investors, according to a recent white paper by Sauer Capital S.A.. The analysis also concluded that commodities can act as a hedge against inflation and provide diversification in a properly designed strategy for those investing in traditional securities portfolios such as stocks and bonds.

"We believe active investors can improve portfolio performance by taking advantage of the factors affecting commodity prices, such as the length of time required for producers and consumers to react to and correct physical inventory shortages," said Alex Lamar PhD, senior research analyst, Sauer Capital.  "In addition, investors potentially can benefit by trading in the same markets as participants who have goals other than profit maximization.  This could include merchants seeking to hedge operating and inventory risks."

Analyzing fundamental characteristics of each commodity, such as inventory patterns, within a disciplined economics framework is a key ingredient of Sauer Capital's approach.  This approach contrasts against commodity trading advisors that employ technically oriented strategies based on momentum, Lamar added.  The Sauer Capital approach assigns attractiveness scores based on fundamental economic analysis of each commodity.  The approach builds diversified portfolios from the bottom up after taking into account factors such as inventory shortages, hedging pressure, speculative money flows, price trends, and the shapes and dynamics of futures curves.

To reduce trading costs and control risks, Sauer Capital's framework also emphasizes diversification across a broad basket of commodity futures.  Sauer Capital's strategy seeks to avoid the most popularly traded future contracts, which often are overbought by indexers and speculators.

Lamar noted that drawbacks to commodity investing historically have included sharp and prolonged downturns.  He said, "Commodities can be highly volatile, and traditional long-only passive investing in the asset class over time has produced poor risk-adjusted returns for many investors, even as recently as 2007. Sauer Capital has developed an approach designed to mitigate volatility and potentially enhance returns without surrendering the appealing features of this asset class – diversification and inflation hedging – that attract investors in the first place."

White Paper - How Documentation Can Make or Break Your Company

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 05, 2011 - Most companies need some form of documentation, whether it is a service brochure, online help, or website content. And many companies simply don’t allot enough resources to their customer documentation. They might fail to see the benefit of giving their customers consistently updated documentation for their product or service, they might think almost anyone in the company can write the documentation, or they might be on a limited budget. There is also the perception that documentation means a thick, complicated user manual, but it has grown to include much more than that (and has also become less bulky). When properly compiled and delivered, documentation can affect sales, address liability issues, and reduce customer service charges.

Many businesses advertise their services or products on the internet, and because most communication on the internet is written, correct grammar and punctuation is essential. While some might argue that most people can write, not everyone knows the ins and outs of sentence structure, technical grammar, and presentation. Consumers, wary of phishing and other online scams, frequently look at the language a company presents to decide if a company and their product or service is legitimate or worthwhile. William Dutton, director of the Oxford Internet Institute at Oxford University indicates this when he says, “…when a consumer might be wary of spam or phishing efforts, a misspelt word could be a killer issue.” If you visit a website or read through a brochure and find grammatical or spelling errors, does it change your opinion about the company and its offerings? If you are like most people, it does. Charles Duncombe, an online entrepreneur, says an analysis of website figures shows a single spelling mistake can cut online sales in half. With a statistic like that, it’s clearly beneficial to have a professional proofread all company content that the public sees.

There are also safety and liability issues that can be addressed with professional documentation. In fact, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recently mandated that assembly instructions for cribs be improved to make sure parents correctly build the cribs to prevent accidental deaths and injury to infants. This kind of safety concern can span a variety of fields and products, and if you have a professional in charge of such documentation, you can prevent liability to your company.

Providing comprehensive, complete, and accurate documentation to your customers, regardless of the type of business you own, is an invaluable way to drive down customer service costs. If consumers are aware of the documentation available to them and it contains the information they need to properly and efficiently use a product or understand a service, calls to customer support (or to you, if you are a very small business) will decrease. Your company ratings can only increase as a result because no one likes to call customer support.

As you can see, temporarily or permanently (depending on your needs) adding a professional documentation team to your company can help ensure your documentation represents your company in the best possible light. A professional writer can increase customer confidence in your company, reduce liability concerns, and reduce costs associated with a lack of consumer knowledge. Some people might not realize that a documentation professional is usually capable in a variety of mediums which can include anything from brochures and website content (including social media) to online help, user manuals, instructions, and more. A professional documentation team is an investment, not an overhead cost.

White Paper - Donor Gratitude and Nonprofits

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 05, 2011 - Gratitude is the cornerstone of the nonprofit community and is often taken far too casually.  The nature of nonprofit work is built on the generosity of people who want to make a difference in the World.  Donors see their gift as an investment in special organizations that they believe can have an impact and will use their gift wisely.  Most gifts come in the form of financial gifts, volunteer time or through passionate employees who work in understaffed organizations for low pay.  Another form of giving is through the tireless work of dedicated board members who give both time and money.  Neglecting to express a sincere form of gratitude for any of these gifts is totally unacceptable and could result in their potential loss.

Studies show that the number one reason nonprofits lose donors is due to donors feeling unappreciated.   Too many times nonprofit organizations depend on the same old poorly worded response letters mailed long after the gift was received to express their gratitude.  Acknowledging a donor should never be viewed as an IRS function.  Donors expect and deserve a quick and meaningful expression of gratitude.  Well thought out letters that change often are a good start, but many organizations are finding that by following up the letter with a phone call can really engage the donor on a personal level.  Organizations that build long term relationships with the donor will be rewarded with greater levels of giving and a better chance at a planned gift.  The rule of gratitude for donors is to thank them, thank them, thank them and then thank them again.

Attracting volunteers is one of the best ways a nonprofit can truly create advocates for their organization.  Volunteers usually give both of their time and money.  Smart nonprofit organizations will have programs to recruit volunteers and find meaningful ways the volunteer can work to feel apart of the organization’s mission.  Gratitude for a volunteer comes in the form of the good feelings they get when they feel they had a part in making a difference with their efforts.   These good feelings should be reinforced through the gratitude expressed to the volunteers from the nonprofit organization.  Something as simple as a post event evaluation meeting where the volunteers receive special recognition will go a long way in insuring that they will be there the next time you need them.

People who chose nonprofit work on a professional level are very special people indeed.  Working with a small nonprofit that has a very tight budget usually means working for lower wages in a tight, understaffed office.  For these hardy soles, the mission is more important than the money.  Although they are paid staff, they usually give a lot more than the time they are paid.  The board members and directors should have a daily practice of expressing gratitude to the hard working staff that spends their day in the “trenches” doing the services of the nonprofit.

The nonprofit Board of Directors is usually a group of highly skilled individuals who were invited to volunteer their time because of the expertise they bring to the organization.  Being part of a board is a high honor, but is a serious undertaking and many times comes with the request for a “sacrificial” donation.  Gratitude for board members usually happens from being part of a growing organization and the community recognition they receive from their serving on the board.  Opening every board meeting with a story of how the organization is having an impact on the community underscores to the board members that their work is making a difference.

Gratitude needs to be a focus for each of us in our daily lives.  Gratitude can also be a focus for nonprofit organizations that receive so much help and kindness from so many giving people.  It is said that being in gratitude is one of the most powerful practices a person or organization can do to activate the laws of attraction.  Being too busy is never a reason to forget to express gratitude.  Organizations that practice true gratitude on all levels seem to thrive better, even when times are tough.  Never under estimate the power of saying thank you.  Thank you.

White Paper - Mobile Apps Impact your Bottom Line

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 05, 2011 - Can new technologies such as mobile devices impact a company’s bottom line and ability to compete?

There is huge growth in mobile everywhere. Every day we see this by the proliferation of fancy mobile devices like iPhone, Android, and iPad, but what we might not consider as strongly is how we all shift more and more of our internet activities over to mobile devices.

Utilizing mobile devices, company’s can improve productivity and streamline communication across the business. This technology not only impacts productivity and profitability, but the ability to compete for new business.

For example, using an iPad, Android or some other smart phone device, accounting software applications can be remotely accessed to deliver customer account access, order entry, order status, customer look-up, and inventory look-up in real-time. In doing so, field representatives can access valuable information whether in the office, on a job site, or on the road. This eliminates the mess and inaccuracies of using traditional job folders, and allows field representatives to save time and manage with real-time data at their fingertips. And as all team members use the same data, companies can improve workflow and communication for optimal execution.

The accounting software and mobile device solution can also help contractors to compete for bids and additional profit with tools to easily track and manage change orders in real-time directly from the field. Contractors can analyze, identify, estimate, budget, propose, execute and bill for the variety of changes that occur during project execution. This leads to additional profit.

I heard a horrifying story about how a large a US based B2B company with solid revenue streams coming from their e-commerce web-site simply had to abandon critical mobilization projects, and as a consequence faced revenue drops and a fading customer base.

We all know that if we cannot serve our customers timely and effectively, then we will lose them as customers. This is exactly why the growing demand for mobile access is critical and urgent for any company with internet based B2C or B2B revenue. Recently one such company, Cougar Mountain Software, Inc. recognized this growing need and executed such a strategy.

Cougar Mountain Software realized that since they were already serving thousands of customers, it just made sense to make a nice iPhone or Android application interface to their accounting software applications. As a result, customers were comforted in knowing their accounting software vendor had their best future interests and success in mind.

Companies utilizing a complete accounting software solution on their mobile devices are able to set a new pace for order execution, while effectively managing their customer needs. Mobile device access can and will impact a company’s bottom line and increase their ability to compete.

The Combination of White Crown and Black High Contrast Clubface

As a fan of white, I notice that the Burner SuperFast 2.0 like the TaylorMade R11 driver has the same white matte no glare finish, which is absolutely gorgeous. The head shape is a little larger than the R11, but is still very pleasing to the eye .
PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 31, 2011 – As a fan of white, I notice that the Burner SuperFast 2.0 like the TaylorMade R11 driver has the same white matte no glare finish, which is absolutely gorgeous. The head shape is a little larger than the R11, but is still very pleasing to the eye at address. The white paint gives the illusion of the driver looking bigger than it actually is. The non-glare paint job makes a difference and is actually pleasing looking when you compare it to a high gloss black driver head in high contrast lighting conditions. It gives me a ton of confidence. The face on the Burner SuperFast 2.0 is the largest of any TaylorMade driver-4,550 square millimeters. A larger face makes it super easy to hit the ball, especially when you consider the driver measures 46.5? which can make it challenging for me mortals to make square contact consistently.
At first glance, you might think the Wholesale Golf Equipment was just a Superfast with a white paint job. So, you are wrong. A closer look reveals some changes. Gone is the dual crown shape although the paint accents almost make the crown appear to have it. Along with the more aerodynamic design tweaks, it is a subtle change in shape. It also gives you a good reliable length when you do not hit the sweet spot, which many golfers will appreciate.
Even though the goal of Taylormade was to improve the distance a golfer could get when they do not strike the center of the club face, they also improved the distance for center shots as well. This driver is built with less weighting in the head as well allowing it to be swung at higher speeds and this creates more distance also.
I found that the combination of no glare white crown and black high contrast clubface, made the Burner SuperFast 2.0 very easy to aim at address. I also liked how driver felt at impact and the pushes of the Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 shaft. The Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 is ultralight and not too soft in the tip. I can only imagine the type of shot the Burner SuperFast 2.0 produces.

The Pleasant White Rossa Corza Ghost Putter

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 26, 2011 – No statement has more effect on this putter's unbelievable build quality than it does with any probability of me believing everyone is going to start building white putters. I don't think that's going to happen. I do, however, believe that if all the putter designers out there don't step it up a notch, Taylor Made is going to become a very major player in this market. Not that they don't already own a significant piece of this market, but rather this particular Golf Equipment Sale, and a Rossa Corza Ghost I experienced today impressed me so much, that I think they may end up taking away business from several of the boutique putter companies as well as any market share they may seize from the usual suspects. Actually, if all the big boys start packing this much technology and this much craftsmanship into their putters, the elite boys are going to be pushed to their very limits just to keep up. Now why is that?

The reason is that the standard loft on the Rossa Corza Ghost Putter is 4.0 degrees, the lie 70 degrees and the offset is 3/4 shaft. It’s available in both right and left handed versions.
TaylorMade’s goal with the Rossa Corza Ghost Putter was simple: Design a putter that’s easier to aim than any other. That’s where the white head comes in. Ghost’s “golf-ball white” color complements the white color of the ball, and also stands out easily and beautifully against green grass so you don’t have to strain to see the topline. That takes the strain off your eyes and promotes a calm and confident state of mind, according to an expert in the field of color perception, who TaylorMade consulted during the development of Ghost. The three black lines on the crown lend further alignment support. The two outer lines are spaced as far apart as the width of a golf ball. Position the ball between those lines when you address your putter — you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to tell where the face is aiming.
To me, the pleasant color of Rossa Corza Ghost Putter makes me excited. Certainly, it can give me more good luck to be a winner on the course.
