PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 30, 2011 – Started about a few months into golf and able to hit around 120 using the 7i, I had the
opportunity to demo both MX 100 and MX200 at local golf shop which I was able to
hit both but do not know how high the ball will fly. Wanted to know if my swing
speed is slow around 60, would the MX200 be suitable? So, I came to my cousin for
advice, and he recommended me to choose the MX200.

The new Mizuno MX-200 combines the feel of a forged iron with technology designed to offer enhanced forgiveness. The deep cavity has a reinforcement pad (known as Y-Tune) which expands the sweet spot and helps provide an extra nine yards per club than previous MX models. The y-shaped pad is situated towards the toe the area where most amateur mis-hits are made. Enhanced solidity in the hitting area and an aggressive triple cut sole design ensures MX-200's place in the bags of both professionals and amateurs.
Unlike the new MP models there was a big difference between the MX-100 and MX-200 irons. While both Cheap Golf Clubs offered impressive forgiveness levels the MX-100s produced a significantly higher ball flight from almost any part of the face. The MX-200s inspired confidence without seeming too bulky at address and the soft forged feel is definitely noticeable next to the cast MX-100. Both sets offer plenty of forgiveness but if feel and feedback are high on your list, we reckon it's worth paying the extra money for the MX-200s.
The Game Improvement Iron category is littered with cast and multi-metal irons with vibration dampeners and power bands, and so on. Instead of relying on technology to create forged feel, they simply make forged irons. Mizuno chose “1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel”with a double-plated chrome finish. The result is as you'd expect: soft, solid, sweet-feeling irons. Feeling is more muted than a blade obviously, but toe and heel hits are still easily recognized.

When I hold the Golf club Set, I feel it is very soft. And looking through the partners review about the new Mizuno MX-200, I knew that it is very forgiving, especially on toe hits. And the shots hold its lines very well. Glancing at these, I am looking forward to the coming of the weekend.

They’re fantastic irons, but if I’m thinking forgiveness, I probably step down to the standard model, or perhaps look at something like a Ping K15. The Mizuno JPX-800 irons are a big jump into the game improvement category for Mizuno Golf. Sure- they have other irons in this space (MX-1000, MX-300) but most people know and respect Mizuno most for their game-enhancing line of muscle back and blade irons known for their amazing feel and precision. In my opinion there was a big gap between the MX-1000's and the MP lines of clubs and the JPX-800's a full-fledged jump into that space, providing 8 to 24 handicappers with a truly remarkable option; a club with the feel Mizuno is known for combined with the game improvement qualities desired by many of us like forgiveness and increased distance. I don't want to ruin the rest of my review- but mission (mostly) accomplished!

Like the MP-53, the JPX-800 features Mizuno’s Triple Cut Sole (most visible in the leading edge grind), which helps to ensure consistent performance from a variety of lies.  Though Mizuno bills the JPX-800 Pro as having a thinner top line (in comparison to the standard JPX), several of our testers, and in particular the lower handicap golfers, told us that the top line was a bit too thick for their tastes.

Nothing matters if they don't work, right?! She loved these irons. She really thinks Mizuno is on to something special with these Discount Golf Gifts. The new design is based on Tour feedback where various Mizuno pro’s such as Luke Donald were given blind designs to test and this one came up trumps thanks to ‘Harmonic Impact Technology’ (HIT) that refines sound and feel at impact. Like the MP-53 irons the MP-63 irons feature 360 degree grind to make the top line and sole appear smaller than they actually are and this works well.
Instead of creating a muscle back for the MP-63, Mizuno’s engineers have created a muscle pad that delivers the purest feel of any iron they have created. And the MP 63s make use of Mizuno’s award-winning Grain Flow Forging and Cut Muscle technologies combined with a full cavity back. These technologies together are intended to make these Mizuno’s the most forgiving and playable irons in the MP line.

Mizuno studied vibration simulations of the head and experimented with several methods of affecting the sound and feel at impact (Harmonic Impact Technology). Numerous new concepts were then blind tested by Mizuno's tour team (including the MP-62's inspiration Luke Donald) and the Diamond Muscle Design, which reinforces the head from heel to toe, was the unanimous winner.
When I experienced the diamond of the Mizuno, on average, I was 10 feet closer to the pin and 3 yards is not a big deal, but the difference between being on the green or in a bunker, or on the right side of the ridge instead of the wrong or even a 5 foot putt compared to a 15 foot putt starts adding up. There is just enough forgiveness in the diamond design that helped me score better. Yes on a couple of holes it did work against me because the Discount Golf Gifts stayed their line better keeping track further from the pin, but over all the slight bit of forgiveness worked in my favor most of the time.
